Our executive chef at the Asimina Suites Hotel has prepared a simple, delicious Créme Brulee recipe that will satisfy your sweet tooth during your time at home. Enjoy!




10 egg yolks
200g Sugar
4 Vanilla Pods, beans scraped out
1 lt Cream
Strawberries (or Seasonal Fruit)


Separate the yolks trying not to break them and place them in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar and vanilla and whisk until combined. Pour in the cream and whisk until the sugar has dissolved.

Pour the mixture into dishes and then place in a preheated oven at 98c and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven and place the dishes on a heat proof surface too cool. Once cooled, place in the refrigerator to fully set.

When ready to serve, sprinkle some sugar on top of each creme and scorch the top with a butane torch. If you do not have a butane torch, you can place the creme dishes under the grill until the sugar has melted into a toffee.

Serve with fresh strawberries or seasonal fruit.
